Open Doors UK
One of the mission organisations we have started to support is Open Doors UK, who support persecuted Christians in over 70 countries around the world by providing Bibles, emergency relief and helping persecuted believers to stand strong for the long-term. In the UK and Ireland, Open Doors helps the church to pray, give and speak out in support of those who risk their lives to follow Jesus.

Besom
The Besom exists to form a bridge between the church and those in the greatest need on the Wirral. The Besom takes what someone wants to give, whether it is time, skills, money or things, and finds someone who genuinely needs it.

Bible Society
Bible Society was established in 1804 by a group of people including William Wilberforce and Thomas Charles to encourage the ‘wider circulation and use’ of the Scriptures.
We’re still working on this mission today. We believe that the Bible is an extraordinary collection of books, worth reading and part of the solution to today’s big issues. We make Scriptures available where there are none. We help the churches use and teach them. And we try to promote the Bible through the arts, education, media and politics.

CMJ
CMJ is short for ‘The Church’s Ministry among Jewish people’, a ministry that has been investing in the spiritual rebirth of the Jewish people since 1809.
CMJ’s mission is:
‘to encourage Jewish people to come to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah, to support them in serving him as Lord in the light of God’s purpose for them, and to equip the church to be involved in this mission.’

CPAS
CPAS, or Church Pastoral Aid Society, is an Anglican evangelical mission agency working with churches, mainly in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
CPAS was founded in 1836 by prominent Christians, including the pioneering social reformer Lord Shaftesbury. It was established as a Christian response to the massive social change brought about by the Industrial Revolution. What were once small village churches found themselves with the new urban poor on their doorsteps.
Their mission is to enable churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus Christ. The Secretary at our church is Helen Thomas. Visit the CPAS website >
Crosslinks
Crosslinks is an international mission society with its roots in the Bible, working largely within the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Our business is making Christ known through the teaching of God’s word in the power of the Holy Spirit. We do this by organising gospel partnerships across cultural boundaries.

Our link missionary is Jomo Nderitu, Diocesan of Marsabit in NE Kenya.

Anglican Province of Chile
South American Missionary Society was strongly supported with seven members of St Andrew’s congregation serving in South America and two at SAMS headquarters between 1962 and 2007. Since SAMS merged with CMS the situation has been more fluid.
At present the church supports the training of new clergy.

Safe Families for Children
One of our most local partners is Merseyside’s Safe Families for Children, which seeks to create a network consisting of hundreds of compassionate, community-based volunteers who will reach out to families experiencing crises of different kinds, and especially those who have younger children.
St Andrew’s School
St Andrew’s Church and St Andrew’s school work closely together. In fact our daughter church, Townfield, has met at the school ever since it started nearly 25 years ago.

Wirral Food Bank
We have agreed to start a Food Bank Collection at St Andrew’s. A list of required items can be collected from the back of church. The group would be delighted if you would donate in-date, non-perishable items as you are able. Further information available from any member of the Poverty Action Group.

Wirral Youth for Christ
Wirral Youth for Christ (YFC) runs a number of projects sharing the gospel and love of Jesus in primary and secondary schools, drop in centres and through Drugs and Relationship advice.
Wirral Youth For Christ exists to share good news with the young people of the Wirral and to have a positive influence on young people’s lives. We work together with people from all walks of life, the young and the elderly, the rich and the poor and people of all faiths or none… and together we make a difference.
