The music at St Andrews is varied and encompasses organ, voices, guitar, piano, drums and a variety of other instruments. There has been a good mix of traditional hymns and newer songs, which we use regularly in our services. We are always ready to include new songs and some of us have been involved in leading worship at Word Alive (Spring Harvest), and also bring back favourites from other Christian events.
We try to involve children and the youth of the church as much as possible in leading worship, especially at family and youth services, for example we have included a children’s choir in this year’s carol service.
More of the congregation have been able to be involved at Christmas and Easter, when we have an extended choir to lead the Christmas carol service and Easter Praise. These services are a great source of encouragement and witness to both the congregation and the wider community, who come regularly and fill the church.
Music is a much valued part of our worship.
